Student protest at the Tennessee Capitol for a future without violence

In the midst of pain and indignation, students have decided to transform their sadness into action. This Monday, January 27 at 1:30 p.m., the steps of the Tennessee State Capitol will be the scene of a demonstration that seeks more than answers: they demand solutions.
The trigger was the tragic shooting on January 22 at Antioch High School, where two students were killed, Josselin Korea Escalante, only 16 years old, and the attacker. This heartbreaking incident not only scarred a community, but reignited a crucial debate: How much longer should we wait to protect our schools?

A cry for change
The protest, organized by students, coincides with a special session of the state legislature, scheduled at 2:00 p.m., to address public safety. Young people plan to raise their voices against those who have the power to legislate.
A problem that cannot be ignored
Gun violence has become the leading cause of death among children and teens in Tennessee. This is not just a fact, it is a reality that hits homes, destroys families and leaves deep scars on entire communities.
For Antioch students, this protest is more than a demonstration: it is an act of courage and unity. They want to show that, although young, they have a strong and clear voice that will not be silenced.
A call to all of us

This march is not just for students, it is for all those who want a future where children can learn without fear, families can be calm, and communities can heal. It is an invitation for you to join, share its message and be part of the change.
