🚨 SNOW, ICE AND ACCIDENTS: CLASSES CANCELLED AS WINTER BRINGS THE CITY TO A STANDSTILL!🚨


The severe winter storm hitting Clarksville, Tennessee, has forced the Montgomery County School System to close all schools and district offices on Thursday, February 20. Additionally, all extracurricular activities, sporting events and practices have been canceled to ensure the safety of students and staff. Officials have warned that weather conditions will continue to be dangerous.

Since the evening of February 18, authorities have responded to a large number of emergencies in the city, including:


✅ 14 accidents with injuries

✅ 61 accidents with material damage

✅ 40 assistance to stranded drivers

✅ 200 weather-related emergency calls




Before the snowfall, the city had already received nearly six inches of rain, leading to flooding and temporary road closures over the weekend. Now, with temperatures dropping and snow piling up, conditions are even more dangerous.

Local authorities have deployed crews to clear the roads, with the help of the Montgomery County Highway Department, the Clarksville Streets Department and the CMCSS operations team. However, freezing temperatures will continue through Friday, making cleanup efforts more difficult.


Meanwhile, firefighters, police, paramedics and volunteer crews have been working tirelessly to assist stranded drivers and respond to multiple accidents in the city.
